Brading Station

Brading Station

Since its restoration, Brading Station has been open to members of the public 7 days a week. It is now open from 11am- 3pm daily.

The building, once threatened with demolition now houses a railway heritage exhibition centre and visitor centre.

Awards

Brading Station was short listed for a National Railway Heritage Award, and judges were extremely impressed with it, commenting:

“Brading Town Council is to be congratulated for their support of this project. It is an excellent entry and the building, which was once threatened with demolition, has found a new life in the local community. The new facilities are well done and a credit to all concerned. The Council’s plans are to be encouraged. They include the restoration of both the out of use down platform building and the redundant signal box. The colour scheme externally resembles the British Railways period incorporating original doors and vernacular styled sash windows.”
