Having begun the Laundry Lane section of the Old Railway Line, Wightfibre had to delay their process of cable laying due to unforeseen circumstances. They exhausted all possible options but had to abandon the route for operational reasons. This means they are unlikely to proceed with any further work as planned and will be looking at an alternative route .
Grants for home insulation, solar panels, double glazing and other energy related home improvements are currently available from CityEnergy, in conjunction with the Isle of Wight Council and the Footprint Trust.
