In times of adverse weather conditions, Brading Town Council have a number of sand bags to borrow to help prevent flooding. If you require sandbags please contact [email protected] in the first instance. While it is not the IOW Council’s responsibility to protect individual homes and businesses and people are responsible for their own properties, in some emergency situations, IOW Council will instruct Island Roads to position stocks of sandbags at the following strategic location: Simeon Street Recreation Ground, Ryde.PO33 1JG.

The IW Council are entering into an agreement with Wightfibre to allow the communications company to install an underground cable from the junction of Carpenters Road into Laundry Lane, and along the Old Railway line, to Quay Lane, where their cable has already been installed.
