Southern Water has released the following update on the burst sewer pipe near West Lane Brading.

“Our teams are continuing to repair a burst sewer pipe on land near West Lane, near Brading, we’re sorry for the impact and inconvenience this is causing.

The main repair of the burst is expected to start in the near future as our teams are looking for a suitable window with two days of dry weather for this to go ahead before March 1.

As part of this, we will be using Appley Car Park during the repair as a storage location, which means it won’t be accessible.

We have also taken samples that have been shared with the Environment Agency, they show there is no environmental impact at this moment in time.

When we have the dates for the full repair, we will provide a further update. ”
